Carbon Footprint SaaS – CBN-Expert

CBN-Expert came to TechChaps as a UK SaaS startup with a clear mission — help organisations measure, manage and reduce their carbon footprint — and no build team. The product needed an intuitive dashboard covering data input, analytics and rewards; reporting flexible enough for very different industries; and a database design able to handle large volumes of emissions data securely.

What we built — a full carbon accounting SaaS, taken from specification to a live product:

• Carbon accounting engine: collates, measures, tracks and reports emissions across business activities, with prior-period comparison and full Scope 3 / SECR reporting
• Real-time, customisable analytics and reporting dashboard
• Onboarding wizard so non-specialist users can self-serve
• Role-based access control with secure authentication
• Net Zero goal tracking with sustainability badges
• Data management: mass upload, custom emissions categories, carbon-intensity metrics

Team: 1 IT consultant, 1 project manager, 1 designer, 3 developers, 1 QA tester. Stack: Vue.js, Node.js, MySQL.

The result: the product is live at cbn.expert, serving enterprises measuring and reporting their emissions. A non-technical founding team got a production SaaS — architecture through deployment — from one accountable partner, without assembling their own engineering team.
